Decided call my original fiction fan fiction of works H.P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, and Richard Matheson. I edited his comments because of this and I will make sure he is not welcomed on this blog. Skullvines Press made that mistake on Shocklines and really pissed me off. What if a publisher was to see that? Or a magazine looking at my catalog wanting to publish a story for it — being called fan fiction is something derogatory when writing Lovecraftian Horror. I am going to have some fun with him in the new short story I am writing and putting the flaming fruitloop in his place. I am just influenced mainly by those writers and if I was a fan fiction writer exclusively I wouldn’t be published in Darkened Horizons: Issue 3 or Withersin Magazine.
That is the fastest way to pick a fight with a writer who is published, call their entire body of work fan fiction. I want to kill the staff of Skullvines Press over this. They insulted every publisher and magazine to publish me. I write stories set in fandom though because the world of fan fiction writers is a strange and intriguing world. Some are very imaginative but they capture the darkness so well with their fandom but they need an original horror story to get them published in the industry. Five writers on Lake Fossil Press emerged from that site. One author I clashed with before she got published all her body of work is fan fiction and I punished S.E. Cox by creating an account on fan fiction.net because the only way she would be noticed now is a writer is if she wrote Nickolaus Pacione fan fiction. I was punishing Cox for pirating GAME OVER — I am still going to punish the bitch, that was the nail in the coffin for Panic Press. If I wrote fan fiction exclusively I wouldn’t be allowed to publish with Lulu.com.
Lake Fossil is the only story I will authorize fan fiction for as long as I get to publish it. I will turn a fan fiction writer into a published author. I discovered one of the contributors on The Ethereal Gazette: Issue 12 on fan fiction.net — the youngest contributor in a long time I published with an introduction saying the story reminded me when I first wrote The Statue. That was the main reason I wanted the story it brought me back to when I wrote that toned down story and a reader compared me to Lovecraft saying the story scared him long after he read it. When some asshole calls me a fan fiction writer when I have been published for my work, I want to beat the shit out of him because he insults every publisher who published me over the years too.
